The U.S. alliance BAYAN-USA came out with this release in solidarity with the survivors of the devastating Tyhpoon Yolanda:

Dear members and friends of BAYAN-USA,

If you agree that…

…Starving people can’t eat bullets
…Thirsty people can’t drink excuses
…Aircraft carriers and machine guns can’t fix broken bones
…Finger pointing can’t rebuild homes or hospitals
…And hope comes alive when grassroots people take action

Then please join BAYAN-USA is taking action now to support the victims of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda in the Philippines by making a donation to the relief campaign of the National Alliance for Filipino Concerns (NAFCON) at www.nafconusa.org.

BAYAN-USA is supporting NAFCON’s 100% grassroots campaign to bring relief aid directly to the grassroots communities that have been devastated by Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda and have been virtually abandoned by Aquino and his inept response to the disaster.

While BAYAN-USA also pushes for the end of the militarized response of the Aquino and US governments to this tragedy, and for Aquino to finally do the right thing by releasing all of the money tied up in his pork barrel funds and using it for relief, we hope you will join us in this act of genuine solidarity with the people of the Philippines by making a donation today.

Thank you for your support!
